Day 16: A nice long day
We planned to make it from Beaufort Docks to Swan Point Marina, but made it out on the early side (0725) and made sufficiently good time that we decided to press on, and there was a spot for us at Beach House Marina, just north and east of the Surf City Swing Bridge. We hit here just before a bridge opening, so there were a few folks hanging out, awaiting another sailboat, but in the end we turned into our slip by 1710. We had one scare this morning - a pallet-like thing that we literally grazed on our way past Morehead City (before the UNC research facility) - no harm done, but

Day 15: Beaufort Docks
Joining the site at Day 15 of our southbound journey. We left Kent Island in the Chesapeake on Sunday, 17 October, and have made our way to Herrington Harbor, Solomons Island, Crisfield, Kiptopeke State Park, Great Bridge, Virginia, Coinjock, the Alligator River, Belhaven, Oriental and now Beaufort. We actually DO blog, but I love the idea of a site for sailors. We are headed for Lauderdale by early/mid December, and then on to The Bahamas when we catch a weather window after 1 January. Great to keep up with other folks too.
