Day 3

Nice easy run into Norfolk, Va today. It still continues to amaze me when coming thru here and seeing the size of all the naval ships. We are but a crumb, next to these macho steel floating towns. I can only imagine what other countries must think when they see these bad boys up close.

Well we just realized that it is columbus day ,and thats a plus ,because it appears none of these mammouth ships are going anywhere today. Of course we do have the power boat parade that the ICW is famous for. Unfortunately, they  dont throw candy, just as much wake as they are able. I often think we should start a literacy program for these type of power boaters, its a shame they cant  read a "NO WAKE" sign... poor guys.

The city anchorage is a decent size, directly across from the city of Norfolk. Nothing is really open today but a mall, so we decide to just relax on the boat. Kitty is up on the deck staring at the city lights, which happen to be gorgeous at night. We went over to Tidewater Marina to arrange for a short haul, hopefully for tomorrow. It was another beautiful day. 82 degrees with a light breeze... its 9pm and still warm.

Im going back topside to have a hot chocolate and Baileys , and watch the boat traffic. We are just outside of the main channel here, so we are expecting to have a rocky night, but to me the view is worth it :)

The rub is for those countries that can't imagine what to think when they DON'T see the bad boys up close and fury rains upon their heads.
